PIES & TARTS

My grandmother, Juliet, used to make enormous apple pies in a big, rimmed sheet pan. They were truly something to behold, and every pie we make at Layer is inspired by the love and care she put into hers. To make sure our pies and tarts are just as special, we make them with the finest locally sourced ingredients available, including the freshest fruits and pumpkins picked right off the tree, the bush and the vine at Lynd’s Fruit Farm, just down the road in Pataskala, Ohio.

We’ll even bake any of our pies in your own pie pan to make sure it fits perfectly on your table; just swing by our kitchen and drop it off.

pieweb-2 Amazing Apple Pie
Inspired by my grandmother’s original recipe, this old-fashioned apple pie features a lush filling of ripe apples, Vietnamese cinnamon, freshly grated nutmeg, and a hint of clove tucked inside a flaky, white-cheddar double crust. A light dusting of demerara sugar on top adds a sparkling finishing touch.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie
We combined two of our favorite things—cheesecake and pie—into one sensational dessert. We start with tender, flaky crust and fill it with a creamy cheesecake base, a spicy pumpkin custard layer, and a crunchy pecan streusel topping.  Seasonal.

Chocolate Pumpkin Pie
If you’ve never experienced the astonishing flavor combination of rich chocolate and creamy pumpkin, you’re in for a real treat. We line a homemade graham cracker crust with melted bittersweet chocolate, then fill it with a blend of spicy pumpkin pie custard and melted semi-sweet chocolate. Once it’s out of the oven, we drizzle the top with milk chocolate. This is truly the ultimate holiday dessert for chocolate lovers. Seasonal.
